Project Motive
BMIRUN exists to provide users with lightning-fast tools to track their body metrics (BMI, BMR, Calories) while seamlessly integrating a premium storefront for fitness gear. It bridges the gap between tracking health and acquiring the right equipment.
Requirements & Methods
Built on Astro.js (SSR mode) for unmatched speed, Tailwind CSS v4 for rapid styling, and Cloudflare Pages for edge deployment. We prioritize vanilla JavaScript for lightweight DOM manipulation and rely on a strict mobile-first design philosophy.
Development Steps
Established core routing → Built interactive Calculators (BMI, BMR, Calorie Tracker) → Integrated a JSON-backed Storefront with dynamic Slug Pages, Zoomable Images, and Cart interactions → Deployed to Cloudflare Pages.
Achievements
Successfully launched the web app with Cloudflare SSR. Shipped a highly interactive Calculator suite. Solved complex dynamic routing for the e-commerce catalog, and built a custom HTML5 canvas node graph for this roadmap.
Expansion Strategies
Scaling the storefront by transitioning from a static JSON datastore to a robust CMS. We plan to dynamically load different layout templates based on product categories (tech, clothing, food) for a tailored shopping experience.
Upcoming Ideas
Developing a dedicated Admin Dashboard to control product templates and inventory. Implementing user authentication for personalized dashboards, gamified fitness streaks, and potentially wearable API integrations.
Testing & QA
We rely on strict TypeScript compilation for static analysis, utilizing tsconfig strict mode to catch type errors early. UI changes are rigorously verified across desktop and mobile viewports.
User Retention Plans
Utilizing modern UI aesthetics (glassmorphism, micro-animations) to create a premium feel. Future plans include saving calculator results to profiles, establishing streaks, and offering exclusive storefront discounts.
Progress Reports
Phase 1 (Calculators) is 100% complete. Phase 2 (Storefront MVP) is 90% complete, featuring dynamic routing and cart logic. Phase 3 (Admin Dashboard & Auth) is currently transitioning from planning to active development.
